BUSINESS CONSULTING
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Consulting
I work with organizations ready to create diverse, equitable and inclusive environments for marginalized talent.
Culture then Talent
You’re a work in process and so is your team.
Before you go recruiting diverse talent, be sure you have the culture, systems, and processes in place to develop, promote, include and retain that talent.
Diversity recruiting is not enough.
For marginalized talent, diversity recruiting by itself is like being invited to go swimming only to be dropped in the middle of shark infested waters and told to fend for yourself... Because everyone can swim, right?
Wrong. Bringing in talent is not enough... you must create an environment where that talent can thrive. That kind of culture shift is not accomplished by diversity recruiting initiatives, sensitivity workshops, employee resource groups or Identity-of-the-Month celebrations alone.
Culture shifts require intentional and repeated intervention at the levels that have the most influence... the middle.
Culture is created, changed and maintained in the middle.
It’s the habits of managers, supervisors, and client facing team members that take DEI recommendations and bring them to life. Without that consistency all you have is a diversity statement, and the cumulative cost of lost talent.
Our Approach
Our approach to DEI consulting marries strategy, policy, training AND coaching.
Let’s make your organization more inclusive and impactful.
We offer a 4-step strategy to Align, Listen, Respond and Act to create lasting transformation for your company.
ALIGN
Through tailored surveys, we gather recruiting, promotion, retention, performance, salary, and demographic data from your organization.
We then facilitate an internal audit, carefully reviewing all relevant policies and procedures. We then provide an opportunity for key stakeholders to digest these findings and work with you to articulate areas for improvement and alignment with your goals.
LISTEN
In this phase we utilize a series of assessment tools to understand the attitudes and feelings surrounding DEI issues within your organization.
We may leverage interviews, focus groups, and additional surveys on topics ranging from hiring practices to employee health and wellness initiatives. Throughout, we will facilitate transparency and opportunities for consensus building and buy-in at crucial levels of your organizations.
RESPOND
We will synthesize data from the previous two phases into an actionable proposal to move your organization forward in your chosen DEI goals.
Based on the opportunities for improvement, we proceed with a holistic approach encompassing bolstered commitment, customized educational initiatives, coaching and development, and tools to ensure effectiveness and consistency. Our response approach can be summarized as follows: Commit, Educate, Integrate, and Sustain.
ACT
In this culminating phase of our engagement we will create and update your organization’s relevant procedures, deliver our distinct brain-based coaching and training, and establish systems for regular feedback and ongoing refinement.

Here’s what our clients are saying.
Everyone who attended greatly benefitted and it was truly eye-opening. We loved her so much that we asked her to be our DEI expert.
Denitresse facilitated an amazing event for Networking Women of the Triangle, LLC, called "Building a Better World: The Black Experience." She was the keynote speaker, educating our members about foundational concepts on racial justice and diversity & inclusion. She also organized an all-Black women panel discussion where the panelists shared their personal experiences with race, racism, the police, growing up Black, how being Black has affected their school and work experiences.
Everyone who attended greatly benefitted and it was truly eye-opening. We loved her so much that we asked her to be our DEI expert for the group. She regularly initiates conversations that promote DEI and has been a great resource for our group. With her, we feel that we're strongly striving to be as open and inclusive as possible.

Hi, I'm Deni. I’m an Executive Coach, Career Strategist, DEI Consultant, and Founder of DF Coaching & Consulting; a boutique firm, specializing in coaching, professional development, and diversity, equity & inclusion. The DF Coaching and Consulting team brings together well over a decade of experience in the areas of executive coaching, corporate strategy, nonprofit management and board development, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion specifically in the areas of strategy, recruiting, development, and retention.
In my nearly 20 years navigating the maze of corporate America, I've become passionate about helping to develop ERG strategy, working with MLT in support of their mission to increase representation of minorities in the C-suite of corporate America.
As the resident DEI partner for Networking Women of the Triangle, I’ve come to love developing and delivering training workshops and facilitating strategic planning sessions.
My mission and passion is to empower both ambitious professionals and organizations alike to break down barriers and create space for everyone to succeed - without sacrificing their goals, integrity, or authenticity in the process. I envision a future in which everyone has equal access to opportunity and can bring their whole authentic selves to their careers.
